Township Committee Presents Citizen’s Award to Volunteer Resident Jessica Romeo

June 26, 2024

Chatham Township resident Jessica Romeo was honored by Mayor Ewald and the Township Committee at the June 25th Township Committee meeting, where she was presented with the Chatham Township Citizen Award in recognition of her contributions and service to the community.

Mrs. Romeo has been instrumental to the development of many of local volunteer organizations and projects and has generously volunteered countless hours serving on numerous committees, including the MLK Luminary Project, Colony Pool Advisory Committee, Community Garden Committee, Chatham Township Environmental Commission, and two local Girl Scout Troops.

On the Colony Pool Advisory Committee, where she has previously served as both chair and member, Mrs. Romeo helped with the creation of the fitness and yoga programs, outdoor movie nights, teen dock area, and the adult socials program.

As a troop leader for the Girl Scouts, Mrs. Romeo has inspired young residents to engage in environmental restoration and community service, leading initiatives such as the planting of over two hundred native trees seedlings!

Thank you for your loving and dedicated service to our town, and congratulations Mrs. Romeo!
