Environmental Commission
The Chatham Township Environmental Commission is an official arm of the municipal government, established to protect the environment and conserve natural resources. Our Mission
- We are your advocate. We research your environmental concerns and suggestions to propose ordinances and take action to better protect our environment.
- We are an advisory body to the Mayor, governing body, municipal departments, municipal boards, and committees.
- We educate and inform residents about sustainability and ways to protect the environment and shrink our carbon footprint.
- We inventory and monitor environmental resources and help to promote and manage conservation easements.
- We review construction site plans and help residents, the Planning and Zoning Boards, and the Land Use Office to understand the environmental consequences of land use decisions.
- We provide community education and outreach to residents, local schools, churches, organizations, businesses, etc.
Meeting Schedule
Environmental Commission and Green Team meetings are held at first Wednesdays at 7:15 PM at the Chatham Township Municipal Building, 58 Meyersville Road.
