Mayor’s Wellness Advisory Committee

The Mayor’s Wellness Committee of the Chathams is a program of the New Jersey Health Care Quality Institute, run in partnership with the NJ League of Municipalities, dedicated to empowering Mayors to act as champions of community health by equipping them with the tools to develop and implement active-living initiatives in their communities with the intent of improving health while reducing health care costs.

The committee meets monthly to discuss ways residents can get involved in community programs that contribute to improved health and wellness. We also work in partnership with local organizations and businesses to help sponsor and create wellness events for residents of The Chathams. Chief among these events is the Sustainability Fair of The Chathams, sponsored in collaboration with the Environmental Commissions of both the Township and The Borough. The fair is an annual event at the Farmers’ Market that promotes health, wellness, and sustainability through the use of eco-friendly products and services that offer affordable environmental solutions to sustain our communities.
