Township of Chatham Launches Pickleball Court Pilot Program
The Township of Chatham is pleased to announce the launch of a pickleball court “pilot program”. In an effort to respond to demand for this exciting new sport, the Recreation Department and Public Works Department have repurposed the basketball court located at the back of the upper Colony Pool Club parking lot for pickleball play! This court is a temporary accommodation to gauge demand and solicit feedback from neighbors in the areas who may be affected by this latest trend.
The court will be open and available for play on a first-come, first-serve basis beginning this Saturday, July 22nd at 9 a.m. The court will be available from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm whenever the Colony Pool Club is open for operation. Free paddles & balls are available in the Colony Pool Office should anyone need them. We ask players to please be respectful of all who would like to play.
If you have any questions, feedback (good or bad), or equipment concerns, please contact Recreation Director Larry McCann (lmccann@chathamtownship.org).
