Government / Mayor & Township Committee
Public Participation
Municipal governing bodies are required to set aside a portion of every meeting for public comment. The public is welcome to attend or participate electronically. This is a public comment portion, therefore, the Township Committee is not required to respond. Speakers may comment for up to three (3) minutes. Speakers may speak once and may not yield their time to another speaker.
- Section 3 (b) During public hearings, Section 3(a) will also apply.
- Section 3 (c) During the second Hearing of Citizens, speakers may comment upon any item on the agenda and/or any topic for the good and general welfare of the Township of Chatham. Speakers may comment for up to three (3) minutes. Speakers may speak once and may not yield their time to another speaker.
- Section 3 (d) During all public hearings, residents of the Township of Chatham will be called upon to speak before non-Township residents.
