Topographical Maps

The following contour maps are available for your research

The First map in the series is an index map with an overlay grid. The remaining sheets are numbered to correspond with the numbers in the grids.

Maps are presented in two formats, jpg and PDF. The jpg files are 600KB to 2.5 MB in size. PDFs are 700KB to 3 MB in size.

The paper maps were scanned at 600dpi and the resulting files are between 15 and 51 MB in size. Contact the Chatham Township Environmental Commission to obtain copies of these original files.

The sheets are numbered index and 1 thru 43. Sheets 24, 25, 29, and 34 are missing and presumably were never created since the areas they would have covered are flat undeveloped swamp. On several of the other sheets there are blank bands, presumably for the same reason.

THESE MAPS APPEAR TO BE EXTREMELY ACCURATE. According to the Pennsylvania State archives, the Aero Service Corporation began in 1919 in Philadelphia and was a pioneer and world leader in aerial photography and photogrammetry.
