Chatham Township Seeks Public Input for Nash Field Playground Improvements
Chatham Township is excited to share that it has been awarded a $60,000 grant through the New Jersey Local Recreation Improvement Grant (LRIG) program to support the future replacement of the Nash Field playground. The grant was awarded on April 2, 2025, and represents another important step in the Township’s ongoing commitment to improving public recreation infrastructure while offsetting costs through alternative funding sources—without raising taxes.
The current Nash Field playground has aged considerably and is due for a full replacement to ensure it remains a safe, accessible, and engaging space for local families. The Township is currently planning to move forward with the project in the summer or fall of 2025, and is now seeking feedback from residents on the proposed concept and design.
A rendering of the conceptual design is available below. We welcome your input as we work to ensure that the new playground reflects the needs and preferences of our community. To share feedback, please email [email protected]. We look forward to delivering another high-quality recreational amenity to the residents of Chatham Township.
